About The Members of the Band

John Reynolds (National Guitar, banjo)

John ReynoldsJohn Reynolds picked up the banjo at the age of 11 and played it throughout high school in various dixieland and jug band groups. His focus shifted to the guitar after he heard Eddie Lang on the 1926 Jean Goldkette recording of “Sunday”. His enthusiasm for the instrument reached new heights when he discovered the recordings of Django Reinhardt. Click on the video below to see John perform a short impromptu solo on his National Resophonic Guitar.  John was a member of Disneyland’s Banjo Kings for several years. John has opened for Cab Calloway, Julie Andrews, Andy Williams, and the Smothers Brothers, and has performed internationally with a number of different groups.

Ralf Reynolds(Washboard)

Ralf and his washboardTo Ralf Reynold’s mind, there’s no sense in taking the stage if you’re not going to enjoy yourself. “Music is for fun, and that’s the way it should be,” Reynolds says. “We have fun with our music, and hopefully it shows. People have a tendency to listen with their eyes, and smiling can be contagious.”

Ralf got his start as a washboardist at Disneyland in 1974 and continued to work both at Disneyland and in Orlando until 2001. He was the creator and leader of Disneyland’s Main Street Maniacs and the World famous Main Street Rhythm Rascals at Walt Disney World. Recently the Mississippi Rag named Ralf the ablest washboard player in the United States.  “Ralf ... is considered to be one of the world’s greatest living washboard players.” The Wall Street Journal
